Tu BiShvat, the Jewish New Year for Trees Tu BiShvat, the Jewish New Year for Trees

Thursday, February 13, is Tu BiShvat, the Jewish New Year for Trees.  It is traditional to plant a tree, bush or even a flower at this time.  Each year the Men’s Club holds a Tree Drive to plant trees in Israel through the Jewish National Fund (JNF).  Everyone is invited to purchase one or more trees for the JNF for $18 per tree to honor the holiday or to honor an individual or event.  The return home of more hostages from Gaza is one good reason.

To purchase and plant a tree 1) download and complete a JNF form from our Temple website or email Irv Joffee for a form; 2) write a check to JNF for the required amount ($18 per tree); and send the check and completed form to: Jewish National Fund, 78 Randall Avenue, Rockville Centre, NY 11570.
