About Temple B'nai Sholem
For over 300 years Jewish people have been making New Bern, North Carolina their home beginning with the founding of New Bern in 1710. Temple B’nai Sholem, formed in the 1800s as United Hebrews of Chester, continues to preserve and remain stewards of this deeply rooted legacy.
Temple B’nai Sholem serves as a Jewish house of worship for five counties in Eastern North Carolina (Craven, Carteret, Pamlico, Jones and Onslow counties).
Temple B’nai Sholem welcomes individuals and families regardless of their faith who want to join us in Jewish worship, fellowship and our Jewish shared belief of Tikkun Olam “repairing the world”.
The Temple is affiliated with the Union for Reform Judaism
