Pastoral Care

PASTORAL CARE

Temple B’nai Sholem’s Pastoral Care Program assists Temple members and members of the New Bern area Jewish community who are experiencing life challenges or who are isolated from the Jewish community because of distance or the challenges of aging.

Trained pastoral care volunteers and professional pastoral caregivers are available to members of the New Bern area Jewish Community who find themselves in need of a kind listening ear, companionship, or assistance. The Jewish Family Services of Raleigh-Cary works closely with the Temple’s pastoral care program to provide professional social work and case management services.

This program’s mission is based on the Jewish principal of “gemilut hasadim” – doing acts of loving kindness.

Temple B’nai Sholem’s Pastoral Care program is funded in part by The Carolina Foundation for Jewish Seniors.
